All Age Divisions
Four 8 minute quarters with running clock. Automatic referee time out at 4:00 minute mark of each quarter for substitutes. Benches are cleared at each 4:00 minute mark
Each game will start with a jump ball. Subsequent periods will be started with a change of possession
3 timeouts per game. Each time out is 1 minute. Only a player on the court or the Head Coach can ask for a timeout
Each player must sit out at least 1 four minute period
Half time is 2 minutes
1st & 2nd Grade Division
Score is NOT kept
Backcourt defense is not allowed
No free-throws
3 seconds in the key is NOT called
Passes made by the Offense that go through the key may be intercepted by the Defense
Any loose balls may be recovered by the defense outside of the key
Weeks 1 – 12: Defense can be man-on-man or zone up to the free-throw line, extended
3rd & 4th Grade Division
Score is kept
3 seconds in the key is called
3 point shots are allowed
Technical fouls count as a personal and a team foul
Coaches can substitute freely only the last 2 minutes of each game
A player is removed from the game after receiving their 5th personal foul or second technical foul
Backcourt defense is not allowed except for the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter and entire Overtime periods
Teams will shoot a one-and-one on the 7th team foul, and teams will shoot two free throws on the 10th foul for both the first and second half
Overtime is 2 minutes and each subsequent Overtime period required is 1 minute
Week 1 – 3: Zone Defense may not extend above the free-throw line with the free-throw line extended to the sidelines
Week 4 and beyond: Zone Defense may not extend above the top of the 3-point line extended to the sidelines
5th & 6th Grade Division
All the above 3rd/4th Grade Division rules apply except for the Man to Man Defense can extend to half court all Season
Week 1 – 2: Defense cannot deny the pass to the player 1 pass away. Only the player with the ball can be defended man to man. The other 4 defensive players are to be in help-side defensive position
Violation of Week 1 – 2 rule: Play stops and the Offense takes the ball out on the sideline, above the free throw line extended
Week 3 and beyond: The pass to the player 1 pass away can be denied
No zone defenses are allowed
